Woodwind in the Woods Returns
We’re delighted to welcome back Broadway musicians Christine MacDonnell and Mikki Ryan for their annual performance at Greenbrook Sanctuary. Since the pandemic, this acclaimed duo has brought warmth and world-class artistry to our woods, performing with ensembles and orchestras across the tri-state area and internationally.

Christine MacDonnell is a graduate of The Juilliard School and an accomplished clarinetist and multi-woodwind specialist. Proficient on all clarinets, saxophones, flutes, and double reeds, she is a sought-after performer in both Broadway and off-Broadway productions. Her appearances span iconic venues including Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and with ensembles such as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Northeast Philharmonic, and Albany Symphony.
Christine has had the distinguished honor of serving as a clarinetist in the “President’s Own” United States Marine Band under two U.S. Presidents. Her recent Broadway credits include Death Becomes Her, Aladdin, and Hell’s Kitchen. A Yamaha and D’Addario Performing Artist, she was featured as a guest artist at the 2024 International ClarinetFest.
Micheale (Mikki) Ryan, a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, launched her New York career after being cast in the off-Broadway production Swingtime Canteen. She remains active in the theater scene, frequently performing in Broadway orchestras for shows such as The Lion King and Wicked.
Mikki collaborates with Christine in the chamber ensemble Metamorphic Winds and is featured alongside renowned clarinetist Richard Stoltzman on his recording Aria. She was a guest artist at the 2024 International ClarinetFest and served as a guest lecturer in 2025.
